Organizing Change
In the Partnership's first annual report, We Make the Road by Walking, the Board of Directors chair, Anthony Welch wrote, "Join us in collective action."
This section describes key areas in which Partnership members are working collaboratively to expand and improve service-learning in school and out-of-school settings.
- Advocacy/Policy - Learn how you can take action to inform and influence the decision makers who can advance service-learning in K-12 schools and youth-serving organizations.
- News Room - The Partnership and its Communications Committee has developed information and tools for communicating effectively about service-learning. Resources include the Talking Smart about Service-Learning series and a service-learning YouTube page.
- Summer Institutes - Information about this year's summer institutes and trainings held across the country is available at http://www.service-learningpartnership.org/summerinstitutes.
The Partnership surveyed providers of 2004 summer institutes. The purpose of the survey is to collect information on the structure,
content, and best practices of approximately thirty summer institutes offered this past summer. The Partnership hopes the findings will advance the quality, expansion, and
sustainability of these institutes. Survey findings are now available in the report, Service-Learning Summer Institutes.
- Wingspread Conference - The National Service-Learning Partnership, with assistance from the Johnson Foundation of Racine, Wisconsin organized an invitational conference on service-learning practice excellence at the Wingspread Conference Center in Racine from September 29 - October 1, 2005. Learn more about the conference and read the post-conference report.
- Field-building - Field-building offers service-learning enthusiasts a framework for thinking about how to spread, strengthen, scale, and sustain service-learning. The Partnership offers a tool for focusing on field-building.
